Ultimately, it would be nice to live in a world where everyone held the same beliefs and could live together in harmony . . . yet we haven't found a similar ground to unite everyone yet . . . so here we are in the same situation as we were in 3000+ years ago.

A nation is divided basing on the culture, traditions and language of that people in a particular area. Also if the world is one whole nation, it would be hard to control everyone and there would be conflicts between people who belong to different religions. There surely would be dictatorship. So to avoid all these, it would be best if the world is divided into different countries.

because different people with different views controlled different lands with high authority and power... thus creating a world that is very different with views and opinions about controlling the world and its people.

because it allows similar people to have governments that reflect their beliefs. Besides, if we were all one huge country, things would be worse. The bigger the country the more bureaucracy you have to deal with.
