Yesterday I had a softball tournament in Reed City and after the first game, which we won, we had what is called a bye and didnt have to play that game. What is a BYE? ...GO CADILLAC GIRLS SOFTBALL!!!

Games that you do not have to play - either the other team forfeited their game against you which gave you the win, or for what ever reason, for your scheduled game, your team had no compeditor to play - so it's like bye bye - as in goodbye.

A team with a "bye" has a record good enough that they are allowed to skip a playoff round which lower ranked teams must play to get a chance to continue.

i don't really know but the same things happen to my babsball game and footballs games. "bye" i guess thats the week you off of work some how you know what i mean. but any way i'am a pitcher and 2nd base whats your position is reed city in south carolina

You don't have to play that round and move up to the next . This happens for a number of reasons usual uneven teams.

BYE is in every sport.....it means thats a week that they dont have any games arranged for the team.....every team in that league has a BYE week.

when there is an odd numer of teams left in the tournament bracets, one team will not have anyone to play, so they award that team a win, or a BYE.

That means you were good enough (or lucky enough) to basically get a free pass to the next round. Just think of it as an uncontested win.

It means that you don't play in order to even up the matches when there is an odd number of teams.
