Yes - you need a USB cable to connect to your phone - or a Blue Tooth dongle to act as a reciever/connector to your cell.
Also, the pics that you transfer have to be VERY small - around 10 kb and no more, so you'll have to resize it.
As for songs, if you have mp3 in your cell, then that's not a problem.
But if you are wanting to customize songs and use them as ringers, then you need a midi converter file which will alter the mp3 format into a midi format.

All of those ideas are excellent with regard to getting music and pics off the computer. However, in addition to that, if you know other people who have Bluetooth phones you can pair both devices and copy pictures, tunes, even contact names from their phone to yours. Note: make sure that you press copy and not move. Copy will put the pic/music into your phone while leaving the original in the other phone. Move will put the stuff into your phone, while removing it from the original phone. The phones have to be fairly close to each other and you should only get stuff from people you trust.
You should switch off your Bluetooth when you are not using it as people can send viruses between phones using the Bluetooth connections.
Good luck and I hope this helps.

if ur phone has bluetooth you can use that but ur computer must also have bluetooth, or you can buy a bluetooth dongle (yes, dongle) for about $10 on ebay that goes into ur usb port and lets ur phone find ur computer to transfer files. Infrared is also good if ur phone and comp have that

Get a usb bluetooth dongle for your computer. It is much faster than infrared and you don't need to keep the devises next to each other. If it is a nokia phone you have go here (http://www.nokia.co.uk/nokia/0,,71516,00.html).This easily lets you get things to and from the phone.
