To paraphrase Gary Seven (from ST:TOS "Assignment: Earth"), humanity's technological ability has outpaced its cultural and social development. It's not a question of people being stupid, it's a question of enough people being willing and/or able to play catch-up when new advances seem to come out every day. (In my experience, "ignorant" is what people call others when they try to sound superior; "stupid" is more to the point.)

Smaller, faster, and more powerful devices come out every day, and our big concern needs to be what happens when we've reached the limits of those capacities (i.e. How small, how fast, and how powerful can we get?), and what do we do then? "All this technology" may look great, but how much of it could you say has contributed to improving our quality of life?

In light of all the things to know, I'll agree with your statement that humanity is becoming (keyword there) ignorant. That's happening because we've done next to nothing to simplify access to information; we haven't brought the carrot any closer to the donkey, and we're not using the stick to prod the donkey onward. WHY should humanity want this information; what's in it for them? When we make the appeal of wisdom worth the effort to attain it, you'll see a change in each of us and an overall change in humanity that you can't imagine now.

Isaac Asimov wrote a story where maths had been forgotten due to the use of calculators
i think it is starting to come true
i am no maths genius but in stores i often come up with the prices in my head before the guy with the calculator
people see things on TV and think that's what really happened in the past when Hollywood often rewrites history

It is not that humanity has become ignorant. It is that humanity has become more sinful. Technology has nothing to do with the way men act it is all about what the believe. What you believe shapes who you are and if you believe that it is okay to have no virtue and character then you won't have it.
Technology is as a result of some men's IQ's but if we have no virtue and character we will destroy ourselves with our own technology.
