you CAN say bomb in a airport but like the first guy said its like saying FIRE in a crowded building... People start to panic and when people panic we dont think and people may get hurt because of that.... no it doesnt mean you are going to detonate one.

did you know that if you do say fire in a croweded building you are responsible for any injures if there wasnt a real fire?

ROFL to the person who said
"Same reason you can't scream "Your sister was much better!" during sex.

It's for your own safety."

thats funny

Because people are scared especially after September 11 and the London Bombings. Plus you can get arrested for saying " I have bomb in my bag" Even as a joke.

Personally, the dumba$$ should get arrested for saying some sh!t that scares the crap out of people.

there are certain words we all associate with danger: bomb, fire, etc., WAY before 9/11. i heard of someone who, back in 1996, tried to be cute with a good looking flight attendant and said something stupid about a bomb and was escorted out of the plane in handcuffs... spent a couple of days in jail too... he was just a harmless idiot, but you never know. i agree with some other answers here: better be safe than sorry.

don't yell gun in a bank, fire in a crowded place, why would you wan to anyway. To be honest, when I talk in public it is generally not loud enough for too many people to hear.
What you are really asking is 'how much of a kicking should someone get for shouting bomb in an airport.

Answer, a big fookin kicking

Well, ever since 9/11 people have been very cautious. It may be because people want to make sure things are okay and not having to make the same mistake again. I dont think its wrong to be cautious.

For the same reason you can't yell "fire" in a crowded theater. Free speech has it's limits as set by the Supreme Court.

actually, this was before 9/11 for those of you who answered as such

I believe someone has hit it on the head, it is not covered by free speech, as it may incite panic, even if you are joking.

you also cannot say "hijack" by the way

The same reason you don't yell "GET DOWN" on a level 4 yard unless you mean it.
