With all due respect, what else do we have to understand and judge others from, someone else's point of view? How would we know that? That's what it's called our "point of view". It's how we see things.

Because that it the only point of view that you know.
You cannot judge others from someone else's point of view, because you cannot read their mind. Even if they tell you what their point of view is, you are still seeing their point of view from your own point of view.

Probably because they have limited experience with the world outside their own front door. The only point of view they have is their own. What is lacking is empathy, the ability to listen to what someone else has to say, and to imagine what it must be like for that person.

People tend to use their intial point of reference first to attempt to make sense of their world. It is their personal framework built on experiences, education, and their world around them. One can hope that people can move beyond their personal frameworks and open their mind to new ways of thinking - and can move away from judgemental behavior. Just because it isn't their way of thinking doesn't make it wrong but that is a hard barrier to move for many people. We are an amagalmation of how we were raised, outside influences, and innate opinions - we can't change in a day but I believe most people are capable of altering their frameworks. Trying to change how they view or believe is scary and scary isn't fun or comfortable - education and tolerance is a step in the right direction. Personal beliefs aren't necessarily wrong - just different and we should celebrate those differences.

Alot of people have said that the only point of view to see from is your own but I beg to differ. Do any of you not have the ability to empathize? That is the ability to see things from anothers point of view, to understand.

It's human nature because we are all born to be leaders of some sort. Unfortunately, most of the people in the world today also sport very narrow minds and think their way is the only way. Kinda like the Christians.

they are blined by someone else ideas about a certian indivduals and they can't make sure if that information is correct .they will jump into conclusion without looking at the facts. most of these peolpe are gossip angels, people who spread rumors around to their gossip friends. a reasonable person can not judge a person without observing the facts and evidence.

Because in reality you only have you own life experiences to base the things in that happen in life. The things we read, the things we see and hear, they all have to pass through and be processed by our own experiences if we are to have any hope of understanding.

Because we all have our opinions. Some opinions are right and some are wrong. I wish that my kids had listened to my opinions because they came from experience and now they are paying the price for going by the opinions of their friends.
We judge others often times because we see in others things we see in ourselves and don't like and rather than fixing them in ourselves first we try to fix them in others.
