Someone at my work was talking about a silent version of King Kong that was made before the 1933 version with Fay Wray. Does anyone know if this is true? I just thought there were three versions.

As others have noted, there was no silent version. The person at work is: a) on crack; or b) thinking of the silent version of "The Lost World", which featured visual effects by Willis O'Brien, who went on to do the effects in the original "King Kong".

I agree with the previous answer... I'm pretty sure there were just the three versions. I've never heard of a silent version being made.
