Can you believe that: A= not A ?
If not, no one believes.
They have faith that their unproveable, irrational, contradictory
figure will be understood when they die.

That is, they believe that they can in the future believe-- and that understanding is always hopelessly deferred past importance in life.

Philosophers often begin with some version of this question, but I know some so-called atheists who have a better grasp on God being the common parent of all humankind (not the Upper Case G in God) than do some religious people. A more helpful question is does God believe in you, i. e. what impact has your life had on proving God is actually real and in pain due to all the convenient barriers (church denominations) humans have built?

A majority of the world believes in a God of some kind. However, the important question that you should be asking is not whether others believe in God...The question that you should be asking yourself is do YOU believe in God? There are many arguments both in favor and against the existence of God. Be sure to explore them well before deciding. I suggest that you do not believe because someone tells you to believe. You should only believe if your examination brings you to belief.

Yes and no. Obviously people believe in entities they call "god" but I don't think that humanity really understands the concept as it's defined. We accept certain concepts, but can't really concieve of them. Rather, we just take it that there is some entity "God" that is traits A, B, and C.

I do too.

Work with a friend who didn't belive for years until he had a touching encounter. He thinks it's awesome how that, after all the years he didn't believe, he is now a believer.

And besides, it there something greater to believe in? :>)

What really matters is God's faithfullness,
even when we have doubts...
doubts are the ants in the pants of faith:
they keep your faith awake and moving.
