Hey Ben, do not consider dangerous approximately a few of these smart a$$es, I have a rust mark on my fiberglass gunnel. It occurred whilst I had a few engine paintings performed, the mechanic need to have left a rusty facet on it for a couple of days. I most effective scrubbed it a number of occasions even as washing down the deck with boat cleaning soap, but when I particularly desire to take away it subsequent season, I'll take a look at CLR first, its a Calcium, Lime, and Rust purifier product. It's meant to be excellent.

I know how nasty rust can be on a fiberglass boat. I used steel wool to clean my deck one time and I'm still cleaning rust off. the best stuff Ive found is some deck and hull cleaner called Mary Kate. You will find it at your local marine store. READ the directions, its very potent stuff.

A method for removing rust is to use oxalic acid crystals diluted with water. A non-boating product, Bar Keeper’s Friend combines oxalic acid with a Comet-like cleansing powder. (This product is available at most grocery stores.)

As funny as that sounds I know what you mean. Use a good rubbing compund or cleaner wax. Try Zymol Liquid cleaner wax (walmart or any chain store will carry it). It will come off pretty easily.

There are commercial products available, however, soft scrub and a little elbow grease works fine.
