I threw up in the toilet while I had my boss on the phone with me.

You don't want to make it too complicated...when I worked in an office, I would call in the morning after I had just woken up with my "tired" voice and tell them that I had been throwing up all night and hadn't gotten much sleep. Car problems always work too, or saying that you have to care for a sick family member. I don't like to use the excuse that someone has died because I'm afraid that karma will bite me in the @ss and it might really happen.

Probably that I was injured in an accident. Later that day the boss called the only local hospital to check up on my story I guess. Then he called me at home and when I answered I was caught off guard(b4 caller id) Lamely, I tried disguising my voice but he knew it was me as I had just moved to ohio from Bahston!!! I was fired over the phone right there on the spot!!!!

In February I had a car accident and totalled my car. My daughter and I were en-route to the hospital in an ambulance (not seriously hurt) when my cell-phone rang. It was work asking me to do an extra shift the following day. I said "guess what, I'm in an ambulance right now....you'll have to cancel all my clients for tomorrow and probably the weekend too.

I got caught in the crossfire of a gunbattle in a KFC/Taco Bell drive-thru once on the way to work. After I talked to cops for a while and checked for bulletholes in my car, I called work and told them I was too stressed from being shot at and I needed a day off. They agreed.

Your employeer cannot make you give then an excuse if you dotn want too. There is a medical law called HIPPA notice of privaci act... All you have to say is Im not able to come in due to medical reasons. that is what we are writting on our excuse notes for our patients...

I called in and told them my granddaughter was ill. Then my boss said 'but you don't have a granddaughter!'
So I said that she had just been born 2 days ago. But he said 'but you don't have a daughter or daughter in law to give birth!'
So I told him that i had just found out that i had a daughter when she had been giving birth and the nurses had phoned me. But he said 'but surely you'd notice if you'd had a child? you're a woman!'
So i explained that id fainted during childbirth and when i woke u the nurses told me my baby was dead. but he said 'but you've been in this job for 35 years! you've never had any maternity leave!'
So i told him that it was before i got this job. But he said 'well you started here when you were 17, so you must have been very young.
So i said 'damn it. ill come to work!'

Ijust say I've been vomiting and shi77ing myself all night, usually they about hang up on me, which is good because I'm busy trying not to giggle and go WOOHOO!

We used to have this lady though, she'd said oh my stomach is crampin up, and that always meant she was getting ready to leave. It was so predictable.
