I'm sorry, but no matter how you look at it that doesn't make sense. "The" sun cannot be "the" stars, because "the" sun is singular, and the "stars" is plural.

Anyway, if we weren't recieving the heat of the sun, everyone on the earth would die, that's pretty simple. Same goes for if there was no atmosphere. But if someone was on another planet, the earth would only cause doom to them if it passed really close to it, in what is known as the "rogue planet" scenario: the interference of another heavenly bodies gravitational field causes the orbit of said planet to go out of wack, causing severe climate changes etc etc etc. Or if the planet crashed into it, that would obviously cause even more havoc, possibly resulting in the utter destruction of both planets as they break into so many pieces of rock and magma.
