Is scuba diving actually popular in Norway?

Yes, it is, but the sea can be quite cold. There are a lot of known shipwrecks, and also very different environments.

If you're looking for deep fjords: I think Sognefjorden is the deepest I don't think there's a lot of diving to the bottum there, though :)

I don't know about the fjords in Norway, but they have explored the ones in Alaska.
