Ummm maybe you got things a bit off here. I think your confused with the difference between Americans and America Government.

Not to say we are not proud to be Americans because we are, Not to mention we are the super power of this planet but because we are most every country wants to be here.

We have fought proudly for many years to have the freedoms we have, but with all the things Americans have we can not tell our government how to do their jobs without it taking time. So many Americans go out and protest to be heard when something in the world is not being done right - always standing up for the little guy (the undergog).

Everyday some one in America is not only fighting to stay on the top, we are also fighting for injustice in the entire world.

I do not know what country your from and I do not know why you felt it your place to make such a question, but surly you made it for the wrong reasons.

If our Government were to stop feeding the rest of the world. We could stop telling you other humans what to do because you would soon stave to death or learn to eat one another and the world problem would be over.

So, according to most of those who've answered your question, the United States government (not necessarily in unison with most American citizens, although certainly in unison with most of those who submitted answers here) can bully its way around the world just because it CAN, and just because it gives food and money to impoverished people in other countries.

Isn't it amazing that if you would poll most of the people who have submitted answers herein, they would probably all call themselves "Christian' - after a man named Jesus Christ who served the poor, the hungry, the sick and the disabled with compassion and humility. If anyone could have, Christ was in a position to say, "I'm all powerful, so I can do anything I want and you'd better do everything I tell you to do!" Either you so-called self-proclaimed 'Christians' are incredibly hypocritical, or you aren't quite as 'Christian' as you profess to being.

As the world's superpower, and a global peacekeeper (which we were until the Bush administration came in with guns a totin' and tanks a'rollin') we should use our power and status in the most humble of circumstances, willingly offering aid and cheerfully sharing the wealth we have with all other nations on Earth.

Instead, we're incredibly selfish, egoistic, arrogant "givers" who only feel it's alright to "give" if we "get" something back in return: i.e, OIL, respect, undying loyalty, or total subservience.

I was raised 'Christian', but gave up on organized religion years ago because it's nothing more than a hypocritical business that rejects you unless you "tow their line". Apparently, that's what 'giving' is all about: not about charity, love, compassion, and sharing. It's all about domination and control.

So who exactly is repulsive here? I think it's the American government which believes it "can tell everyone else what to do, but do whatever they like themselves". We should all be so ashamed of ourselves for allowing our government to have such superciliousness and lordliness over others. And maybe we should all take a look into our own souls and see why we're filled with such heavy hatred and repugnance toward others. -RKO-
