To Slow? Is Canada reacting quickly enough in Lebanon?

Question

I am a Canadian citizen, and I am disappointed at how slow my country's reaction was to helping its own citizens to evacuate a war torn Lebanon.
Its almost 2 weeks in and there is STILL a large amount of Canadian citizens and Canadian Lebanese inside Lebanon waiting to be taken away from the war.
Are there any other Canadians that are disappointed at the slow reaction from the Canadians?

i hared that Australians had the same complains , i guess its not easy for them since it's By sea ,, THANKS TO ISRAEL there is no Planes left

Canada does like to stay out of wars at all cost even Canadian lives. The US collected our people 11,700 - we have 300 trapped somewhere in country - still looking. You have to use your own planes or ships not Lebanons.

I agree with you, that we should be doing more to speed up the evacuation.

I am sad that our prime minister can offer no original independent Canadian statement on what is going on in Lebanon right now, instead he merely repeats the same lines as our ally to the south.

We deserve better.

Why do people vacation in Lebanon? Anyway, yes I think the US and Canada are slow evacuating.

The US hasn't even collected half yet!

I think they're acting as quickly as can be expected under the circumstances. You can thank the previous Liberal government for depleting the military in this country to such an extent where now we have to HITCH rides with other countries equipment, and of course they are going to take their own citizens first.

im absolutely disgusted. Harper has made clear his utter comtempt for the lives of canadians, and that his primary concern is to do whatever bush has ordered (or paid) him to do
