One time my good driving caused an accident. Crosswalks apparently don't exist in the minds of most drivers here as in lieu of highways we have very, very large main roads. Anyway, there was a young man on the median waiting to cross the road. So I stopped for him, which prompted the woman to the right of me in a blue SUV to stop. Then in the blink of an eye her blue SUV was replaced by a sh!tty old brown station wagon occupied by a very surprised young man who had just had an air bag deployed in his face. It apparently hadn't dawned on him that someone might actually stop at a crosswalk so his following distance wasn't enough to keep him from rear ending the blue SUV and pushing it out about 60 feet on the other side of the crosswalk. I sat and stared for several seconds as the pedestrian crossed, stepping carefully over the debris from the wreck. A very irate looking woman stepped out of the blue SUV and approached the brown station wagon with the still dazed young man. It was at this conjunction in time I decided it was time for me to resume my business.

Of course. If you run and someone catches your license plate, it would most likely be construed the same as a hit and run.

There are quite a few people out there causing accidents and are not even aware that they have done that.

yes. I would.
I would feel badly.

I was rear-ended once but blamed the driver in front of me who STOPPED while getting onto the freeway! I stopped in time (not to hit the doofus in front of me), but the guy behind me plowed into my car. The dorkwad in front of me (who in my opinion "caused" the wreck) took off.

Yes because if you leave the scene, and you get caught later on, you can be prosecuted for leaving. You're better off staying there.

Yes, I would. I couldn't have that kind of guilt invading my thoughts and dreams every night! Whatever you do, you have to own it.
