Many of our civil servants, in fear of reaching retirement age have cut their ages half way by securing fresh birth certificates. So have the Politicians who want to over stay in power. Are there any ways that can help the common man determine the ages of these peoples to avoid their lies?

carbon 14 is constantly replaced in living things, so wont work for carbon dating.

It may be possible to get something from bone, but in my experience, civil servants actually want to retire on their hefty pensions!

Nope, it only works for dead organisms. Otherwise the carbon-14 levels are more or less constant throughout life. Also, it isn't as effective in determining the age of recent living beings, if you know what I mean. Due to the half-life, it's more effective if the creature has been dead a long time.

NO!
C14 IS ALWAYS REPLENISHED IN LIVING TISSUES

It is its rate of decay after a living thing dies that tells you the age since death of the object.
