Ancient Egyptians were not of the black race. This was a belief widely promoted during the civil rights movement. Modern genetics has allowed us to examine many of these issues and so far the majority point out that the Ancient and Modern Egyptians are very much related and both are closely related to Caucasian people, rather than Black-Africans. The art of Ancient Egyptians made a very clear difference when depicting their own race & that of the Black-African.
People of true Egyptian blood are extremely rare. Modern Egyptians are a mixture of several races.Probably more information than you actually needed but this site differentiates:

Modern Egyptians and ancient Egyptians are not racially related.

Most Modern Egyptians can claim many races as ancestors: Wandering Moors from Libya, Conquering Arabs from the Arabian peninsula combined with sub-Saharan Africans (Nubian, Abyssinian and Congolese).

Ancient Egyptians pretty much died out as a race after the Greek conquest and Ptolemaic period.

Interesting Fact: Cleopatra was not "Egyptian" despite myth and Hollywood. She was Greek, in race and in language and culture. She was part of the Greek empire that had been established by Alexander, she spoke Greek and she worshiped Greek gods, not Egyptian.

As North Africans, Egyptians are an Arabic race for the most part. Ancient Egypt also included areas which were further south, and whose people were darker.

It's almost impossible to point to any form of original Egyptian race since Egypt has always been a country with mixture of races for many years.
