you won't get bit. yes, there are sharks in the water, but they usually dont' come very in land. as long as you stay where your feet can touch the sand, you'll be fine!

fun fact: sharks are 10x more scared of us than we are of them--and with good reason! humans kill more sharks than sharks do humans.

there's a map of the reported *unprovoked*shark attacks in the US. they're more of a change you'll get bit in oregon!

as long as you stay away from them, they'll stay away from you. =) i'm very touch on this subject, as i have two little iridescent sharks myself, hahaha, even though they're veggies!

have fun in florida! try not to worry, 'kay?

There are sharks there, but the water is very safe as far as sharks are concerned. I have been SCUBA diving several times now (not in Florida) with sharks all around me & never felt threatened. A few points of caution though. Avoid swimming at early dawn or dusk times, and/or murky water conditions. Panama City Beach has a beautiful state park called St Andrews, with a nice lagoon type swimming area that is very safe.

there are sharks in every ocean. there is not a good chance of getting bitten. last year, there were 3 shark attacks on florida beaches.....as opposed to 100,000,000 swimmers over the course of the year. Do the math and I think you'll find your chances are excellent that you'll never even see a shark, let alone have some sort of interaction with one.

As long as you stay out of the water during the dawn, and dusk hours. Avoid river mouths, and muddy water. You odds are very very small of being attacks by a shark. The ride in the car to the airport is at least a thousand times more risky.

here is a thought to ponder statically there are 5 shark attacks a year and only a couple of deaths. Now on the other hand Pigs attack and kill approximately 400 people a year. watch your surroundings and local reports in the area and remember you are in there house and you have better odds of being killed by a pig. Sharks have a undeserved bad reputation......

There are sharks, but the odds of getting bit are longer than getting struck by lightning.

Ooooooooooops, I stand corrected, the chances of getting bit by a shark are extremely higher than getting hit by lightning!

Last year there were shark attacks. Possibly because of a bad hurricane season. This year so far there haven't been any. The boy who was bit last year was surf fishing & had bait in his pockets.

anywhere there is water there can be sharks especially warm water. They even swim from salt water to fresh water.
