Actually, a lot of your answerers are only half-informed.

All the scrubbing in the shower won't do much good if you don't soak beforehand, and all the soaking in the bath won't do much good if you don't scrub and rinse afterward.

The most hygenic clean you can get is to soak in the bath for at least fifteen minutes, then drain the bath and use a loofah, washcloth, or body puff with some fresh soap on it to exfoliate the dead skin cells that have come loose. Rinse off in the shower, and voila! The dirt and skin that was attached has been soaked and loosened, AND has been scrubbed off and rinsed down the drain.

Extra bonus points for starting off warm and ending up cool to open and close your pores, respectively. Also, a cool-water rinse at the end of one's bathing process is quite silkening on the hair.

However, if you were asking quantitatively rather than qualitatively, I think it depends on one's personality or mood.
A nice tub-soak can be very relaxing, and one of the best things you can do for sore muscles. But a good shower can also be quite appealing, especially if you take your time, breathe the steam, let the spray massage your scalp and neck...

Do what feels best for you!

Believe it or not, a bath is better than a shower. Most people think a shower is better because the dirt is being washed away down the drain and you don't "float" in it, however, the "soaking" of the bath removes more dead skin cells than a shower does, allowing more to be removed during the bath (which don't reattach and are rinsed away as you step out of the water).

I want to say a bath cause then you're not wasting as much water if you have a problem with taking long showers.
But then a shower is better because then you can use less water.

I like to sit in a hot Bath at the end of the day and just meditate and soak if I had a long day but if I had a pretty easy day a 15 minute hot shower will definitely do the trick!

A bath if you have time. It's relaxing. Put some music on and some bubbles in the tub and mmm its very nice. But if I have a headache I like to take a really hot shower and sit down in the tub and let the water go down my head. That's also pretty relaxing

Its all circumstancial I guess lol but I mostly take showers.

I like showers because you feel cleaner after you get out of a shower, but if I had a stressful day a hot bath is wonderful.

If I am sore or just feel like relaxing a bath is better, but to get clean I'd say shower

Showering is better from a hygenic point of view. In a bath, you just sit in your dirty water and can't truly get clean. I usually soak in abath if I need to relax and the shower after I drain the tub, so I don't have all that residue from my bath water on my skin.
