Example: seeing a black cat cross your path is unlucky, or throwing salt over your sholder brings luck? Did someone just make this stuff up or is there a reason behind superstitions?

our ancestors were told by their ancestors......n that all was based on the logics which were based on the circumstances of those times. so the beliefs passed on n on...till date with a lot of seasonings...n seem to b a matter of non belief these days.

see as an indian citizen i want to tell u that when peolpe started celebrating life they were very happy but after words they started ignoring it . so to keep the culture we made superstation as human beings always fear for their life ,so if a cat crosses the way we say its bad sign but the reason is we dont know how many germs she carried and even if a single virus enter we may fall sick so we say its superstations

probably alot of them started in the middle ages just because of the lack of knowledge about medicine and nature.
