Your dad is being emotionally abusive. He is not helping you by treating you this way. It sounds like if he won't listen to you when you tell him you don't appreciate his behavior. It might be a good idea to see if he'll go to a therapist or counselor with you so you can both find better ways to communicate with each other. If he won't do it, at least get counseling for yourself so you can find better ways of dealing with your dad's behavior. It sounds like a tough situation. Good luck and take care.

Have your ever been to a doctor to see if there is a physical reason for your bad posture? It might be worth checking out. Good luck and know that your dad loves you no matter how much he is on you about your posture.

Be firm in telling him to stop. And mean it.

You are an adult (I think) - or soon to be - and he cannot order you around. Just tell him that you will try to have a correct posture and consciously attempt it but his constant nagging is not going to help.

Ask him to stop it just when he tells you. You do not have to rebel. After all, he is saying that for your good. If he abuses you in front of others, just have a talk with him in private and let him know you do not appreciate his behaviour. He loves you enough that he will listen.

If he is hot tempered, you lower your voice but be firm in your reply - he has to listen. This works, believe me.

I'd say - berating me, especially in public, lowers my self esteem which causes my posture to get worse, not better. If you're afraid he will get angry if you tell him, would copying these answers and leaving them where he will find them work? It sounds to me like he beats you down and then gets angry at you for looking beaten.

Try diaphragm breathing rather than shallow chest breathing. Also walk on heels rather than toes. This will automatically help your posture and resolve your problem.

Good luck !

Just try you best to sit up straight and stand up straight. If he gets mad at you for trying your best, well then you can say that you're trying your best.
