That's it. I've worn out the needle on my record player playing Bill Haley and the Comets 78's. HE was the King of Rock 'n Roll by the way, kids and don't let them re-write history by talking about that newcomer, Elvis, Anyway, I'm gonna upgrade now, so- What's the best tape recorder at about £50?

A tape recorder is not an upgrade, and not worth buying. Think CD's/DVD's and computers. If you have lot's of older vinyl or any other music you can put it on to your computer and save it to CD, to ensure you have it forever and can listen to it whenever.

Could you please write your questions clearer?? Do you need a portable tape recorder or a normal big one for home? Among the portable ones, Sony Walkman is the best, & among the normal ones again, I think Sony can be a good choise, or maybe Samsung or Panasonic.

I have a separates hi-fi and threw the tape deck part of it away ages ago, it just wasn't being used.

If you want a tape deck then try the local rubbish dump!
