Lots of different possible interpretations of your question.

Physically, phil4you5 has it right. The sun is about half way through its life. Towards its end, it will expand into a red giant, the outer surface of which will be near, but probably not engulf, the earth. The heat will blow off the atmosphere, boil off the oceans, and incinerate anything that can be burned. What will be left will be a burned out husk probably with its existing nickel/iron core. If the red giant is large enough to actually engulf the earth, then our entire planet will be dispersed into atoms. In either case, if our descendants haven't left long before that, nothing will be left of us.

I believe the end is approaching soon. According to bible in the book of Revelation, it says the Apocalypse (end of the world) will come from the BIG EAST. If we consider Pangea (when all the continents were connected as one), The big east would be Russia, China, and North Korea (or what was most outwardly east). Look @ the news now. Russia and China are in support of N. Korea's nuclear arms and their practices to use it.

If not, i believe World War 3 will be breaking loose soon.
