I reacently watch the movie What dreams may come? I watched it over and over and didn't understand the finish

If you are familiar with the concept of reincarnation, then the movie makes more sense. Since his wife had committed suicide, she was not allowed to enter heaven without spending a life on earth from start to finish. Even though time would pass fast for him in heaven, she would have to live a lifetime on earth. He did not wish her to make this journey by herself and pledged that he would also go back and find her again. Of all the people in all the world, what would the probability of them meeting? Romance to the extreme. Watch the DVD special features and the commentary and you will get more insight.

The whole family died and the parents were two people who were soul mates. So the way it looked to me was that they were reincarnated to find each other again and it would probably keep happening each time after they died. They say " True Love Conquers All"
