I got my first boil when I was 15 (I'm 21 now), and the doc said it was Staph infection. I've been getting them all over my body ever since (chin, top of vagina, legs, underarms, stomach). I thought it was because of shaving, so I stopped shaving and started using Nair. I don't know what to do. Could it be something in my blood? I seriously doubt I've had staph for this long. What do you think it could be? (I'm going to the doc soon for blood work)

I recently recovered from a serious infection and was on antibiotics for a prolonged period of time. Since then, my body chemistry has been so messed up that I have acne and zits like never before. (i'm 42) Someone suggested to me that it is the result of not enough good bacteria in my body (since the antibiotics kills both good and bad bacteria)

I started probiotics (bifidus, lactobacillus, etc.) last week and just yesterday I started to notice a difference! The bumps that I have had on my face, neck and arms the past 5 months have reduced by at least 70%!

Could be that the agressive antibiotics needed to treat your initial staph infection effected the good bacteria balance in your body. You might want to try probiotics. Keifer brand probiotic beverage is excellent, and I also use liquid acidophilus and add it to my food. AND I take a probiotic supplement from the health food store.

Believe it or not the exact same thing has been happening to me, as a matter of fact I have three on one of my breast right now. I also was wondering about Staph infection also because they keep appearing in different areas of my body, I might need to go in for some bloodwork also to see if everything is okay. God Bless You.

This is going to sound weird, but please read on, because it's true... it's also a bit disgusting... but it's still true.

When I was in college, I had a good friend who started getting boils... carbuncles, furuncles, nanuncles, etc... he had them all over him for about a 3 year period and nothing seemed to help him until he asked the doctor if he was causing them by EATING the old core out of the boil...

Needless to say, the Doctor read him the riot act... but he stopped using them for afternoon snacks and the boils cleared up.

Like I said... this sounds weird... but it's a true story.

YES YES YES it can be Staph.Staph hides and can stay dormant for up to 6 months. What you need to do is see ANOTHER doctor and ask then to treat the inside of your nose.Yes...the inside of your nose.Staph hides in there. My son had Staph and my neighbors son had it.My son was treated in the nose from day one never had another outbreak. My neighbor wasn't and he had several outbreaks,THEN they treated the inside of his nose....never had another outbreak. This should do the trick.I will say a prayer for you.I know this can be a hard thing to go through.Good luck.
