China will move more toward a market based economy and will overtake everyone.

In ten years it will still be the United States. China will be a bigger manufacturing hub than ever but the US will be the financiers for a large amount of China's manufacturing.

China still has a long way to go and even at their current growth rate it is something like 25 years away from China matching the United States.

The US's economic power is in its currency, banks and general resources. China really has lots of labor to offer and very little else right now. This may change but China's long term outlook doesn't look super promising either.

Remember that with the fact that while massive China's population is in a steady decline with population control laws enacted limiting couples to only one child and many couples choosing to have a boy not a girl you will wind up with a huge population dip in the next 30-40 years.

As much as has been made about China's boom in the past 20 years, they may never reach the status of global power that once seemed inevitable.

The United States will still have a bigger economy than China in 10 years. I think China is expected to overtake us (at current rates of growth) by about 2030. Yes they are growing faster than we are but they are starting from such a tiny economy (albeit with a huge population) that it will take them a while to catch up.

THE MORON WHO SAID BUSH SOLD THE COUNTRY TO CHINA DOESN'T KNOW THAT IT WAS CLINTON WHO DID THE MOST DAMAGE.

I WOULD THERE ARE TOO MANY FACTORS TO CONSIDER... HOWEVER, CHINA IS DEVELOPING FASTER THAN ANYONE IMAGINED.
