For me, personally, I get horrible cramps! They're absolutely unbearable =/ Note: do NOT eat/drink any cold thing! Cold stuff prevents the blood from flowing.. it's good to have some warm things when you get your period like soup or hot cocoa! I don't wear tampons therefore I use pads. Sometimes its annoying, just dont wear anything too tight or short if you plan on wearing pads. Be sure to always carry around a pad! Especially if you're irregular and it could come at any time. Exercise supposedly helps the pain but it doesn't work for me. Usually I'm lying in bed with a heated thing on my stomach. Cramps are usually what gives women the most problems. You could always try taking Motrin (I advise taking it with food. I, personally, can't handle it well on its own because it gives me a stomachache) or Tylenol. It'll help relieve the pain. You don't want to be in school feeling like total crud and nauseous and dizzy and end up throwing up (true story for me). Atleast you'll hopefully be prepared now! I got mine at 11. I barely knew what a "period" was!

It's different for everybody so there's really nothing you can prepare for. Yours could last 3 days or it could last over a week. You could have extremely painful cramps or you could be *very* lucky and not have any. The cramps could last 1 day or the could be every day. You could have one day of heavy bleeding or the whole time could be heavy. Just make sure you ALWAYS have an extra pad in your purse, backpack at school, etc. You never want to be in the middle of the mall when your period starts and you don't have a pad on hand. Remember to change your pad every 1-2 hours otherwise it could get smelly and nobody likes that. I hope I helped, but really you're just going to have to wait and see.

You will probably get cramps, which can be helped by drinking something hot or using a heating pad. And it's really uncomfortable because when you move around, you will leak some. It's like in certain positions or when you stand, you will feel a bit of a heavier flow, just for the second. Good luck.

sometimes if you have a very heavy period it can feel sort of wet, but if you're period is light you probably won't notice it much at all. some people get cramps during or shortly before their period as well.

For me it is okay. I only get it like once every 3-5 months and only for 1-5 days. I only had cramps on my first one but nothing else.

Oh wow. I'm ten, and I got my periods when I was nine and a half. It feels..... well..... stickey, and your stomach might hurt you the first few days. Also, when you just start, you cycle will be irregualr, therefore it will sometimes skip and come early. Good luck!

it is annoying yes and when u first start it could be messy. i tend to shower a lot and when i use a tampon it is weird. my mom always told me to wait and have sex before you use a tampon but i use one any way when i want to swim. but it is un-comfortable when u first start using a tampon and when u start your period in general.
the way mine tarted was that i got a little drop of blood on my underwear and i told my mom. when i first started i bleed a lot a lot, but now mine are slightly lighter. and everytime i get mine it is late or early i just look at my underwear. it is fine. and it takes a load off of waiting to get it.
Good Luck!!!!!!!!!
