I start the machine let the water get going, once there is a bit of water, I pour in the detergent in the stream of the water that is going in.. I wait until a significant amount of water is in the tub and then I add the clothes. Sometimes people can get spots on their clothes from detergent if it is added directly to their clothes. Sometimes it is only visable under a black light.. or at glow in the dark bowling

First the detergent, then the clothes and then the water. This way, as the machine fills with water, it starts to dissolve the detergent. Caution: Don't put black clothing directly onto the detergent or it will leave white marks. Put the plaids, greys, etc., in before the black clothing.

Large items or small items, it doesn't matter as long as the large items are loosely bunched so they don't get wrapped around the agitator or each other or tangle the other items. Then water, adding detergent while the wate is running in. If you are using bleach or blueing, put that in with the water and detergent BEFORE you put in the clothes, making sure it's all mixed up so you don't spot the clothing.

I put the soap/bleach in first, let the wash start, then put the clothes in, so the soap doesn't sit on top of the clothes, which sometimes makes stains afterward. Just my opinion.

There are so many different types of fabrics and stains. I usually put the detergent in first and let it mix with the water, then add the clothing. But there are other options....see the link!

Everyone has their own method, I turn the water on and then I put in my laundry detergent and let the tub fill up about 1/4 way and start adding my clothes

The soap and let the water get almost full so the soap can be evenly distributed in the water. If you are washing whites and using bleach put the bleach in also and let it get evenly diluted in the water. If you try to put the clothes in too soon you will end up with areas that are exposed to PURE bleach and other areas will get none.

Do you mean what clothes do you put in first, or are you wondering about detergent? If it's clothes, then put the heavy ones (like pants) in first; if it's about detergent, then it would depend if your washer has a dispenser to put detergent in. If it doesn't have a dispenser, then I put water in, then add the clothes, and then the detergent.

Clothes, then detergent, then start the washer.
Exception: Delicates in cold water that take the special soap - it doesn't suds up as much, and I start the washer, add the soap after it fills, let it aggitate a bit to work the suds up, THEN add the clothes.
