I don't understand how people can't be vegetarians. How can you reason that your steak is worth a cow undergoing horribly cruel treatment before and during its death. How can you justify this process so that you can consume their dead flesh?

I don't mean to shove vegetarianism down anyone's throat, I just don't understand how people can eat meat, and I want to know where you're coming.

I do because I was raised eating meat. I'd gladly be a vegetarian had I been raised that way. It's hard to make a lifestyle change like that, at least for me. There would be a lot more food and everyone would be a lot healthier if we were all vegetarians.

When I see a cow (or a bull if ya wanna be technical on which gets slaughtered) I don't think of a majestic and beautiful creature...I see a steak wrapped in a leather jacket and a new pair of motorcycle boots. Ahhhh God bless America and it's meat eating ways...yum. Oh and by the way...the "cruel way they kill them and raise them" yea it's sooo horrible that they feed the animal every day till it's almost 1,000 pounds then shoot it dead square in the head with a spacial machine with a bullet the size of my fist...if it makes ya feel better the animal is dead before it even hears or feels the gun shot.

Well for starters, I like meat. I think it tastes good. Meat gives me a lot of protein to sustain me. And I've earned the right to eat cows because I'm higher on the food chain and I can. In fact, I have wonderfully evolved canines (teeth), developed just for eating meat. Admittedly, I don't kill the animal itself, and I would probably have a hard time doing so. But as it stands, the burden of guilt has been removed for me. Is that sufficient reason, or should I go on?

Because most of it is hypocritical lies spread by Animal Rights groups who are more than a bit ****ed in the head.

Cows do not under go cruel treatment....... Countries such as the United Kingdom (the entire European Union too, in fact) & the United States have laws to prevent such treatment.

Basically, man is an omnivore. If you look at your teeth, if you were not designed to eat only vegetables. If you were designed to eat only vegetables, you would have a different set of teeth, with much more surface area to grind them, and with stronger and more dense teeth.
Also, the thought of a simple, juicy cheeseburger with all the trimmings, with about three bacon strips, and a side of fries makes me hungry. Anyone want to go and eat?

In the Garden of Eden that was SO! but since the fall of man...........we are allowed to eat meat.
I love a good steak, but prefer a good salad and vegetables most of the time. Chinese, Mediterranean, if you please.
But, I do NOT hang on to the belief of being a vegetarian.
Go have a T-bone......don't be so hard on yourself......lol

I am a vegetarian, because I don't like the idea of it.

But it's an individuals choice. Look at the food chain, everything eats something else.

And who are you to judge someone?

Get your facts right before you post something like this, ok?

becoming a Vegan/vegitarian is a choice, but everyone has this choice and should not have to have other people's opinions shoved down their throats while they make it, or suffer any backlash from the choice they make.

Red meat is the best source of iron for me, so I eat it.

Anyways, it's tasty, and I'm designed to eat meat, so I don't worry about it too much. I do what I can to support ethical treatment of animals, and leave it at that.

if I was the one that had to raise the filthy creatures and slaughter them myself, I agree.... I would be a vegetarian.....

since all I do is purchase the meat at the store and season it with herbs and spices and cook it to perfection..... open a nice Cabernet Sauvignon...... it is bliss....

I do prefer pork.... but you definatly made your point and I agree.... cows are filthy disgusting animals..... I just do not think about that while dining......
