Why are you looking for someone to blame? All of the issues you list (including a word I assume is supposed to be STRIFE), begin with one other word: Greed. Greed, especially for land, has precipitated more conflicts than all other factors combined. So, whenever you think about something you want, but someone else has, then blame yourself.

However I did read an interesting article that put forth that it took a major leap with the creation of single-god religions.

organized religeon, as much as these people preach on peace and tolerance more war comes out of it than anything else
