Ok, I am religious and conservative, and I am -dead tired- of the lies being propagated on here about people of my mindset. Want to know my real opinion? It is simply this: the law should remain silent on the subject.
Those who say this is deeply personal are right. It is. So why should the government need to say anything at all? A declaration of legality is often equated to a declaration of morality. That seems like its going too far. Am I saying it's immoral to have an abortion? Sometimes yes. Sometimes no. But that is too personal a matter for me or anyone else to interject our opinions in the middle.
By the same token, if the government acts to say a person cannot have an abortion, they are drawing a judgment which is wrong as well. So I say let the law be silent.
On a side note, the one thing I would legislate in regards to abortion would be a required notification to parents of a minor child. I know this seems harsh, but I don't want a daughter of mine having medical procedures without my knowledge. If she was pregnant, I'd offer my support. If she wanted an abortion she would still have my support. But I deserve to know if my child is having a medical procedure performed. Period.

I believe that every human being has the right to decide what to do with their bodies and overall health. Some make good choices, others bad. The governing party at the moment legislates what they think the majority of the people believe. This garners them more votes. They are all too gutless to really stand up for what they personally believe. This dilemma will never be resolved as there will always be "right and left" wing parties and supporters.

This issue is not just about what a woman does with her body. There is another body involved, the body of the child. His or her heart is already beating by three weeks, before many women even know they are pregnant.
It is simply not logical to say that abortion should not be legislated because it is a "personal" decision. Rapists, child molesters, and people who drown children in their bathtubs all make "personal" decisions when they commit their crimes. Slave owners made "personal" decisions to sell and kill slaves. (By the way, the Supreme Court once said that blacks are not "persons" under the law. Now they say the same thing about the unborn. Isn't it interesting how the definition of personhood changes depending on who one wants to oppress or kill?)

Why shouldn't the government interfere? It's murder, plain and simple. What did they do to Jack Kevorkian? He was helping sick people end their lives who had made a concious choice to do so. Why is someone in prison for helping an adult exercise their free will, and women are allowed to go into a clinic and kill a child for the simple reason that it is inconvenient? Aren't there like a million forms of birth control out there? Accidents happen, but a responsible woman will take whatever precautions necessary to prevent pregnancy. If that means doubling up on the birth control, so be it. If you don't want a child, take the steps to prevent it happening in the first place!

its about protecting the sanctity of life, over personal agendas and preferences. There are ample oppportunities to prevent pregnacy. There is fine line between treating an "inconvenience" and killing a viable human being. I could go on...
Take a step back and think about the science involved...then look at the morality issue. Then make up your own mind. But don't base it on what I, or anyone else is telling you. Look it up and make an educated decision, then stand by it.
Do you think that killing a pregnant woman should count as 2 counts of murder? What if there are twins? food for thought. (the law says no most of the time)
yeah...love the "ball of cells argument" above....that doesn't make any logical sense.

That is about religious intolerance and imposing religious beliefs on others, in my opinion.
Religious fundamentalists are a danger the world over, whether Christians (in America) or Muslims (worldwide).
We need, in America, to replace the extremists from BOTH major parties with moderates from both, to get back to governing and leading for the benefit of society.
Religion should not dictate law in America.

Like it or not, legislators - the elected representatives of the people - tell us all what to do and not to do, in many areas.
Abortion is obviously a very sensitive issue.
Those of us who can vote, should make sure to do so, to get the kind of government we want.

Of course you are right. A quick research in history will show that when right-wing fascist regimes are taking power, that is one of the first rights they remove. Followed shortly by the press and education for women. A classic example is Nazi Germany, but there are many others....

First, i think of you will possibly desire to undergo in innovations that the explanation why it fairly is a "guy's" government/protection stress/shape/and so on is by using the fact for some years men would not enable women to be such issues, in simple terms as a results of fact men have a tendency to be greater advantageous and bodily greater suitable. If men had needed women to assist out, they might have enable them to. i'm not a feminist, yet it fairly is a fact. i'm not sure what your question is strictly, yet once you are trying to assert that men might desire to have a say in abortion, i think of you're real. in my opinion, i don't think of abortion is nice in any respect (my philosophy is: "in case you probably did not choose a infant, you will possibly desire to not have had intercourse, *****!" ;-) ) yet to be honest...your submit fairly puzzled me. in simple terms comprehend that that's not a guy's international. it fairly is a people's international. all and sundry act in a various way, and that i'm valuable that a good sort of fellows are greater good workers than a good sort of ladies AND vice versa. All i will inform you is that a good sort of ladies are whiny and needy (have faith me, i'm one), yet there a good sort of undesirable traits that are very worry-loose in men that i ought to rant approximately for hours too, so do not whinge. anybody has faults and that's what makes existence thrilling.
