What happened to Yahoo in about the middle of April?

According to Alexa.com, http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details?y=t&q=&size=large&range=6m&url=yahoo.com in about the middle of April, Yahoo's rank went way down really quickly, and I never heard anything about that in the news or anything. Was it a power outage like what just happened to myspace yesterday?

yahoo.com had begun to implement new features and a new homepage for its users which resulted in alot of downtime and google added new technology to their gmail which kinda beat out yahoo temporarliy

but now everythings back to normal
