First, it would be a good idea to major in Communications. From there you can select which aspects you would like to pursue.
To make a film you need to know how to direct, so I would suggest a course in theater where you can learn how to write a script.
As for the animation aspects of it, thats also the media field.
And for specific courses, you would have to check out certain universities yourself, either in person or on-line.
I know Temple U. in Philly has one of the best Communication Departments in the U.S.

The best advice I can give on this is to look up some of the animators at Pixar and either write or email to them some questions about how they got to where they are now. They would be able to answer all of your questions.

You should try majoring in Commercial Art and Digital Animation. There is no need for graphic design because graphic design would only prepare you for such careers in commercial and advertisement not special effects in movies like digital animation would offer. These courses would prepare you for storyboarding, production, and animation of cartoons.
