Is Bob Dylan's gospel album "A Slow Train Comin'" a testament to the fact that he is the best songwriter of all-time, or do you think he was less brilliant than usual when he wrote it?

There is no such thing as "less brilliant" when it comes to Bob Dylan. He is always brilliant, it's just that some people don't realize that all the time. It's like the Nashville Skyline album. Many critics didn't like it, but it's one of my favorites next to Blood on the Tracks and Freewheelin'. It's all about personal preference. Bob always knows what he's doing.

PS. "John" doesn't know what he's talking about. It's funny, I bet he jams out to Guns and Roses cover of Knocking on Heaven's Door and thinks they wrote it. Sad.

Sometimes I feel so low-down and disgusted
Can't help but wonder what's happenin' to my companions,
Are they lost or are they found, have they counted the cost it'll take to bring
down
All their earthly principles they're gonna have to abandon?
There's a slow, slow train comin' up around the bend.

I think the lyrics speak for themselves! He is one of the greatest songwriters of all times!

Dylan is brilliant! No question. Only one of the best songwriters. I think Lennon was Thee Best.

I don't think Bob Dylan ever wrote a song worth listening to.

Try Kris Kristopherson lyrics.....the best ever hands down
(IMO) of course
