Do not suggest over the counter products please. I've tried everything. I need home remedies that are simple to make and use.

Here are some REALLY good, and very inexpensive ways to treat most acne at home. Try each method (unless you’re allergic to the ingredients) until you find one that works best for you. Good luck =) BTW, I know some of these may sound bizarre but try them…what have you got to lose other than the acne!!

1. Put toothpaste on your acne before going to bed. (Make sure it is paste not gel). It should reduce the swelling of acne noticeably.

2. Dab egg whites on your acne and leave on for 20 minutes or overnight. It’s supposed to pull the infection out of the blemish.

3. Wash acne infected areas twice a day with warm salt water. This reduces oils in the skin and helps to dry the acne up without further agitation.

4. Use ice on acne before going to bed. This works best on pimples that have not yet formed a head. It reduces swelling and helps to prevent scarring.

5. Wash and dab acne with cotton balls that have been soaked in vinegar. Let dry; do not wash off immediately.

6. Place strawberries leaves over your acne and the alkalinity will help to reduce the swelling.

Although some may be adverse to this home remedy because of the slight stinging sensation, toothpaste can help. I know this sounds silly but there is something within the toothpaste that dries up excess oil extremely fast. Overnight in most cases. Although the side effect of using this method is the stinging effect that some experience, depending on your sensitivity level. While most use it on their entire face, I would suggest using it only on the spots that require it. Just cleanse your face as you normally do and then apply a thin layer of the toothpaste over the areas that seem to be a bit more oily. Leave it on for a good while, maybe an hour or so.(although many use it before bedtime and allow it to remain there until morning.) I hope this helps!

Don't use home remedies, you could seriously mess up your skin. Go to a dermatologist and get prescription acne medicine. Other than medicine, there are a lot of things a dermatologist can do, like laser treatment to reduce redness. Talk to a real skin doctor before you do something stupid that someone suggests to you.

Try Witch Hazel. It is amazing at the difference it can make and it is safe since it is natural.

Use it as a toner to your freshly washed skin. Keep it simple. The more you use on your face, the more acne you are bound to get.
