My parents always told me that caffeine affects you less as a teen than as a toddler... I'm beginning to believe them. I'm 14, and I've noticed that a cup of soda doesnt make me as hyper and a cup of tea doesnt keep me up as long as when I was younger.

There are several factors to consider. First, if you drink a healthy amount of caffeine throughout your life, you will eventually build a resistance to it. Your body will become used to it, and it will not be as effective. Also, when you're older, you have a higher metabolism, and you're also bigger. These are also factors.

Well first of all they have proven that caffeine doesn't affect children. Also its not the age thing, its the fact that you build up an immunity because chances are you have been drinking it for a long time.

it's called tolerance. it builds as time goes on. try taking yourself off it for 2 weeks than drinking caffeine. it's fun

It means your body has become immune to it's affects at the same dosage. You're becomming addicted to it and therefore need more to get the same affect.
