I mean, you cannot really be on anyone's side in this case because it seems to me that the governements are fighting while innocent people are being killed. What do you think?

Please keep in mind that Israel is firing bombs. You really cannot expect to kill terrorists with BOMBS. Those are just going to kill innocent citizens. That just seems ridiculous to me.

In all wars the Governments are disputing and the people suffer. That's been the history of warfare since the first war ever. The Israelites have been on the receiving end of discrimination, and hatred for many years. They are surrounded by enemies. Really, no one in that region likes them. So naturally they must defend them selves or else attacks on there country would be more and more frequent. Don't forget that they did not kidnap Hezbollah's men first. Hezbollah did, and they were warned many times to release the soldier. Why the country's of the world stood by and watched this play out the way it did is beyond me. You think that this day in age someone would of stepped up and demanded that peace talk be discussed before such forced was used. And its kinda scary that our president really did not in any way say that diplomacy was needed along with ones nation need of defending its self.

Ummm Hezbollah and other radical Islamics are supported by state governments in Iran, are killing Americans and are dedicated to at least pushing US out of Middle East. They kill many Americans. Israel is an ally. Israel does not kill US citizens. Israel has many faults but see above. Israel does not kill US citizens. By the way the the US is not getting rich selling arms to Israel. Israel gets the stuff as a loan. Israel has never repaid any loan from US. Aggravating ally? Still better the country supporting us than the country killing us. How could there really be a choice?

Lebanon, because Israel is the bully of the area. They bomb Palestine frequently and nobody says anything. When any other country/organization fights back they are labeled as terrorists. Are they not freedom fighters? It's all bad innocent people are being killed but people need to stop listening to Israel as they play their "persecution" role, and open your eyes to what's really going on.

Although we are strongly against terrorism yet it reamins a hard fact that Israel is mercilessly pounding civilian population of Lebanon and killing innocent civilians and destroying basic infrastructure of a poor and ill-equipped country both economically and militarily. TV images are an undeniable truth. One may not take sides but should strongly condemn Israel on humanitarian grounds and persuade it to stop bombing civilian setups. Let there be a ceasefire and a sane round of political dialogue guided by by ' Live and let others live with dignity ".

What sides, neither are in my neighbourhood, so I do not have for now to think about either of them, but if I would choose a side in this conflict then it would be Israel.
Why? Because I would feel the same if there were always a threat of suicide killers, missile strikes, and if there are people who say that my state has no place in modern middle east and threatens as with destruction , and tries to aquire nuclear technology.
Somebody will say there are democratic means and peace could be aquired with talks rather then military means.
If you would have France and Germany in war, they could talk about peace, also Japan and South Korea, even USA and Vietnam, peace is posible if there are people of good will who care more about life then death.
But in islamic military movement where you have sucide bombers
you see that they are always pointed to death, and life does not matter, you can not expect any logical peace talks until there is even one dumm suicede bomber who will burn every peace effort by killing some inocent civilian.
Arab people a hostages of a less the 0.001 % of their population, and they have to get rid of this problem if they want to enter in a normal politics where you have a political dialogue as tool for resolving problems.

Forgive me for being ignorant....if I am......but when did Israel go to war with Lebanon? I thought they were fighting the Hezbollah? Oh well, anyway....the bomb being dropped are on the bunkers and the ammunition dumps....or where they are pretty sure they are.....and, they {Hezbollah} hide in the hosue with family...and firends.......that is horrible I agree....however, while talking badly about Israel....why did you not ask about why the Hezbollah was firing missiles into towns of Israel....and they are not guided missiles......and there are no military bases....so why are they aiming to kill civilians?

I dont really have a complete understanding of the issue but this war wont have a winner. These sides have been fighting for many many years before now. I hope that both sides can sign a peace treaty or something of the sort but I dont see that happening.

I'm on Israels side and I'm not jewish at all. The country was formed, its time to get over that. The Hezzbolah in Lebanon are unable to get over that and are extremist that must be routed out of Lebanon.

Why do we have to take sides? I don't agree that the Lebanese people should suffer, but why should Israel have to put up with the rockets and other terrorists acts that Hezbollah perpatrate.
