I can't argue with that, but an employer has to balance employees' comfort with professional deportment. There are also studies done (which usually confirm what 99.99% of us know already) that potential new customers are more likely to be attracted to business with a culture more like their own. Suits and ties (or short pants) will be more comfortable with people dressed like they are -- in the case of seeking new business, with people dressed a little higher in status than the seeker is. When you're interviewing for a job, this is reversed; always dress one level higher than the job you're seeking.

It really depends on the type of work. In some cases it could prove to be very distracting.

Comfort definately helps, but short pants not coming any soon I believe, but loose clothes , yeah.Music depends.
