Depends on the type of gecko - there are hundreds of different types.

Many geckos such as day geckos & Rachydactylus will eat well ripened fruit, fruit baby food, flower nector & pollen. Some larger geckos will even eat baby mice. Flies, moths & grasshoppers are another option for some geckos.

If you're grossed out by crickets then don't try mealworms, they aren't as nutriticious as crickets and they gross me out a lot more than crickets. Plus, if you aren't careful, the mealworms turn into nasty beetles. I think crickets are your least gross option unless you don't mind going outside and catching bugs everyday. The crickets wierded me out too at first, you'll get used to them.

Geckos eat various insects and will eat some fruits. They need an insect diet, so if insects gross you out, you should get rid of the gecko. How about cockroaches, would that be better for you? Just kidding, just kidding!

They can eat other bugs too. It's actually better for them to have a varied diet. Here are the best ones.
Commercial house crickets (Acheta domesticus)
Black field crickets (Gryllus domesticus)
Mealworms (Tenebrio molitor)
Superworms (Zophobas mario)
Silkworms (Bombyx mori)
Locusts (Melanopus spp.)
Cockroaches (Blaberus cranifer, etc...)
Wax worms (Galleria melonella)
It's better to buy them from a dealer. Don't go out and catch them because they can make your pet sick. If the pet stores in your area don't have them you can order them on line at these stores.

If crickets gross you out then you won't like the alternative to them any more than you like crickets. Try meal worms or maggots.

They can eat baby mice. They're called "pinkies". You can buy them at the pet store.
I've never fed them to my gecko, so make sure you ask the sales person how to feed it to them. I know their is a specific way, but I can't remember how.
