I think that the Tigers will make the postseason in 2006 but if the Tigers can play well and win against the Chicago White Sox, Boston Red Sox, Oakland Athletics, and the New York Yankees and win, they could be the American League Champions because these four teams is one of the four teams I can see the Tigers playing in the American League Championship Series in 2006 assuming that the Tigers make it the the ALCS.

Tiger keep rollin!
The Tigers are putting together another streak...shhhhh dont tell anyone, because they are suppose to be tailing off
D Young lit a spark today and we needed that from a left handed bat. Dont forget D young is in the last year of his contract and he is also hanging on to his job by a thread. Look for this to continue, but it will make management think twice about risking too much in a trade. Its a win win for us fans, because the worst thing that happens is that we get to watch the guys win who have suffered with us for the past several years.
I personally think they should continue to go after Soriano. If Young keeps it up we get our left handed bat back and we improve the right side significantly. That is a double whammy to all those chasing.
With Young getting off to a good start tonight that will instill confidence going into the next game...he could have a monster 2nd half that could better what Abreu could give us without spending the money. Believe me management is thinking this way also. Abreu is out anyway. The Tigers will not spend that much money on a left handed bat with only 8 HRs. Soriano would be a better investment.
Back to the game. Verlanders ERA dropped again as his ROY stock rises. He got in a little trouble early, but it turned out to be the only run he gave up and he only gave up a few hits after that. One thing about these Tigs as soon as these pitcher get a few runs and a win is in sight it seems as though they kick it up a notch and virtually shut people down.

No. They'll probably hold off the White Sox and win the AL Central this year. That is the best thing Detriot can really hope for, a World Series is not realistic seeing as they got beat soundly by both the Red Sox and The Yankees in Detroit.

Whether they do or not (which I personally think they will not), what they have done to turn that franchise around is unbelievable. The Tigers were the worst team I have ever seen just a couple of years ago. But they finally got the right personnel in there. I think they will run into a buzzsaw when they finally get to play the Red Sox - but they are one of the bright spots of the season!

No! Of course they have a shot... but theyre not winning this year. If they have any chance (once the playoffs start) at going all the way; they must take Todd Jones out of the closing role, he will cost them! Great improvment though! Leyland has done a hell of a job!

Sorry, but I think the Mets will.
If the Mets cant, then yeah, I guess I hope the Tigers do. As long as the Yankees dont win.

THEY WON'T EVEN MAKE THE PLAYOFFS. THE WHITE SOX WILL WIN THE DIVISION AND THE TWINS WILL WIN THE WILD CARD....AND EVEN THOUGH I'M A RED SOX FAN THE TWINS WILL END UP WINNING THE WORLD SERIES, BECAUSE ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS PITCH SANTANA AND LIRIANO AND MAYBE 2 GAMES OF RADKE. THAT 1-2 PUNCH WOULD BE UNSTOPPABLE. TWINS WIN IT ALL.

me being from Detroit and all, I sure hope they do.....but I agree about Minnesota....I live here now and our Twins are hot. We may have Liriano and Santana, but you can't count on Radke (who I call Sadke) to save the day. And Silva just plain sucks. I say if the Twins SCORE RUNS then they have the best shot......
