R&B is rythym and blues. It referred to any kind of music derived from Early American Blues or used a Rhythm guitar. Much of early Rock and Roll and Hard Rock is considered, and rightfully so, R&B music.

r&b is the latest version of rhythem and blues. r&b has been around for ever but it is just no hitting it big. music classified under r&b are artist such as mirah carrey, boys2men, dangelo, any artisc who has come up with a way to make a love song into the "old soul" sound
