High. Once you have had a preterm birth, you are at risk for them with subsequent pregnancies. You should be watched very closely, and if you think that you aren't being watched close enough, then call and get into a high-risk OB, or a paranatologist- they deal in extremly high risk pregnancies.

Talk to your doctor about what they want to do as far as your care goes through pregnancy. You will probably have extra untrasounds and other tests done to insure the health of you and your baby. They may request you go on bedrest, with no sex after a certain month.

Talk to your doctor and do research on the subject. It always helps to be informed and to know what you need to do to keep you and baby on the right track. Good Luck!!!!

There are sometimes anatomical conditions that tend to increase the liklihood of premature labor. After 3 of them, I would expect that there is. If such is the case, a much closer monitoring would be indicated for any future pregnancies.

The more preterm births, the more likely the next one will be. But some women carry their baby longer with each pregnancy. If you've had two preterm pregnancies, then your OB will consider your next pregnancy as high risk and probably have extra measures already in mind to lengthen your next pregnancy.

I had two full terms actually full term plus some, and my daughter was a preemie. although she did have a huge knot in her umbilical cord, and her heart rate kept dropping, I was in labor with her for 10 hours, and then only 15 minutes of pushing. So really she broke my water because she needed out.
