Most ob/gyn don't schedule your first appointment until weeks 10-13 just because if they plan to do a ultra-sound (which most due) to confirm a due date, they need the baby big enough to see him/her. If you have a history of pregnancy problems then you may call and ask for a sooner appointment, but in most cases it's not needed.
Congratulations!

Unfortunately these days you don't require a gynae appt until 12 weeks pregnant. Home pregnancy tests ARE as accurate as the Dr's test so no need to go in for a + with your doc either.

Most miscarriages occur before this time and nothing can be done about them so.......they don't rush you in for appointments 'just in case'

Even though in the sates you tend to be seen before 12 weeks, they STILL aren't in a hurry to see you.

The problem with this is that you worry madly until your first appointment.
Try try try not to, just enjoy the new sensations your body will be feeling!! The excitement of it all.
I am sure all will be well for you, an earlier appointment is totally unnecessary they just do your bloods and check all anatomical things are A OK.

Congrats on your + test and have a happy and healthy 9 months!!!

It is not uncommon for your first Dr appointment be so far off. I have heard of women not going in for the first 3 months. As long as you are taking your prenatal vitamin, not smoking/drinking, limiting caffeine, and trying to eat a balanced diet you should be okay. There is not really anything that she could do for you at this point anyways. Most testing is not possible yet. Go buy some pregnancy books and enjoy this time that you can still fit into normal clothes. Soon enough it will feel like you are living at the Dr's office. =) Congratulations!

It all depends why you think you may be pregnant, who the father might be, your present domestic situation and etc. Usually the 24 days, if the possible pregnancy is recent, will not make a difference.

No.....in 24 days you'll probably still be pregnant. If you know you are now, take care of yourself and then see your doc for your appointment. Or call them to have them send you for blood work to do a blood pregnancy test if there's any doubt.

No, it is not necessary to go in sooner, but if you want to, you could call around and see if you can get in sooner elsewhere. Demanding a sooner appointment probley wouldn't get you one anyway. Believe me, your gonna spend alot of time in there anyway, I wouldn't push it. If you start to have any bleeding or cramping or fever I would then call them immediately.

no, unless you have a complication or something. I'm sure you know the rules, no alcohol, no smoking, eat your veggies.
