Why do some people always think they are right even when it is obvious they are wrong?

I had a theory.......It is what stupid people do to compensate for the fact that they can not figure out how things in the real world work.

In some cases lack of intelligence may be the problem. This is because people of limited intelligence are easily lead and often repeat what they here as though it were truth. When faced with the reality that it is not true, it is easier to hold to the fantasy rather than admit to your own shortcomings.

Another case is arrogance. Some people's self worth is so high that they elevate themselves to a self important position in their minds. When challenged with the truth, or lack thereof they will hold to their opinion as a defensive mechanism. Their psyches balance on the validity of their own opinion.

Then there are people for whom truth is subjective. You find these people most often engaged in political debate. Their worldview in created based on ideology. To change the ideology questions their very existence. When faced with admitting that something may not be true, they will fall back on the ideological position every time. These people are the most dangerous because they have an agenda, and they are focused on winning over others to their cause. These are people for whom propaganda is not an issue so long as they achieve their desired ends.

I am sure there are many other reasons which I have not touched on here. However most people can accept and acknowledge facts, and welcome the truth. They just have to be shown in no uncertain terms what the truth is sometimes.

What's incorrect? Definition! Truth can't, and will have to now not, be outlined for it's residing, respiring, and replacing like we're. When we start to check out and outline it, we restrict it is vastness and difficult to understand its readability. The reality is just too wonderful for a unmarried definition, and to check out and provide it one reduces it to not anything greater than a "feasible" reality. Therein lies the rub. When a targeted faith comes to a decision that they have got ultimately understood the reality and start to outline it, they then best have a component to it; or a "feasible" reality. We need to set the reality unfastened! Let the reality fly just like the wind beneath the birds wings; via the leaves and branches of the timber; rustling the hairs on our our bodies giving us goosebumps because it passes through and envelops our very being. Right and Wrong... Good and Bad... Light and Dark... These are all simply mere definitions that bind us to the truth that they devise in our brain. The reality is just too tremendous to enable us to outline it with our simplistic phrases. All we will be able to do with phrases is fondle and play with the reality, however the second we attempt to grab it tight and outline it, it escapes us. Let the reality be your dance!

A possible theory is because many are egocentric. The see the world only in their prospective and no where else. Thus, their thoeries must be right.

who is to say who is right / or wrong? Just because someone is "different" than what is expected..doesnt mean they are wrong..people are who they are because of what they have learned, doesnt mean they are right or wrong..its just what or who they are. We are raised to view things a certain way... and when one doesnt fit in to that ..they are automatically veiwed as wrong..... dont put meaning behind what one does..just accept them they way they are... Its your choice to hang around them or not....

From my experience it is usually men that do this, so it must be that most men are stupid - ha ha!
