What is the deal with Models now a day? I look through magazines and all I see are these super skinny women. Some of them are so skinny I cant hardly stand to look at them or the product they are selling because it just looks painful, to be that thin. And before anyone says it I am not jealous I am perfectly happy with my body I am 5'3" and weigh 117lbs. I just dont think it sends a real positive message to young people ,when everywhere they look there are these women who are like 5'10" and weigh about 100lbs, it's gross!

Bravo!!!!!!! It's pretty sad these days when people are measuring success by how much of your skeleton they can see. Sadly, until these women take the initiative and stand up for themselves and start eating healthy (without the binging and purging or anorexia), then the problem will persist. For the most part it isn't men doing it to them since the vast majority of men I've talked to like some soft curves on women, it's the women trying to perpetuate an unhealthy myth. I'd love to see a movement where normal women boycott these magazines and tv shows and movies where the women are so unhealthily thin and encourage the media to show more women of all shapes and sizes and encourage people to lead a healthy, active lifestyle.

listen, fat girls don't sell magazines. sounds harsh, i know.. but being thin is what's attractive in this day and age. in this time where nearly 2/3rds of our nation is obese, people are going to get there feelings hurt seeing these examples of borderline anorexia. i used to weigh close to 250 pounds and now i'm down to 180-185. i'm not trying to impress anyone with this, but more to impress upon the fact that i was fat, and i did something about it. i changed my lifestyle and it's been for the better. i feel more confident about myself and the people i'm around. perhaps some of these models in this magazine went through the same lifestyle change that i did, and are happy to show their bodies off now. fat people are fat because they choose to be fat. granted some of it has been linked to poor genetics, but i have overweight people in my family too. and it didn't keep me from making good choices about what i put into my body. and as far as seeing the anorexic women that look "too" skinny, well, the genetics argument falls in their category too. people are all different in respects to body type just like everyone has different fingerprints. if you don't like what you see when you look in the mirror i have a simple solution for you. change it.

Curiousity, wondering how old you are? This an age old problem. Twiggy, Kate Moss ... it will never change (unfortunately). And for the record, I did modeling, I'm 5'9" ~ 140lbs. and get accused of doing drugs all the time because I'm lanky with a very fast metabolism. I know exactly how you feel about the problem. And I have two daughters that have totally different body types and it's tough to watch the insecurities we all had growing up.

unfortunatly these girls are even skinnier in life the camera puts on at least ten lbs.I graduated from barbizon and weight was not a problem for me my height was I am 5'7 I think they are trying to look taller as well and clothes fit these skeletons no matter what size it is.personally I think a natural look should be in not the same ole stereo type tall skinny and all it is getting old huh!! I agree it's gross too.............V
I want to be a photogragher but this look will not do for I want a unique and natural look no fake or same ole same ole skinny, tall,or blondes only,I am 5'7 120 lbs and I feel I am a bit underweight as well good question...........V

I agree wholeheartedly with you. Models have become dangerously thin and then society wonders why eating disorders are more rampant than ever. Young children see these "models" and think "if that is what people think are beautiful, then that is what I need to be". It is a scary thought, but I cannot see this trend changing. The more we portray beauty as that, the more our youth will want to be that way. It is a never-ending cycle...we as adults need to keep re-enforcing what "beauty" truly means and that it is not about the outside, but about what is on the inside. We need to keep reassuring our children that healthy is beautiful...
