well that depends, try talking to your mom about setting up an allowance for you every month or even every two weeks, like $50 every two weeks, but what teens and children don't understand is your mom has to pay rent where you live, pay consumers where you live, water, cable, phone, and the list goes on, so if your mom gave you the childsupport money how would she make ends meet?
try not to be so selffish just ask for an allowance, and spend it wisely.

Ok sweetheart- this is kinda a touchy one! The child support is technically for YOU- yes it is and u r right about that. It also should be used towards rent and utilities to keep you safe and sound! If you just have the extra each month- and no more bills to pay then I would be putting alot of it in the bank for your future and YES I would make sure one big ol check went for school clothes and supplies! But like I said sweetheart- if your mom has to decide between a home to live in( paying rent) or buying you expensive clothes for school- The rent and a home have to come first- above all else! Good luck

No. Your momma gets a $600 child support check to feed and house you. As long as you aren't going to school naked she is doing her job. Do you have ANY idea how much it costs to live? Rent/housepayment , utilities , groceries , all the little extras kids need , Dr bills. $600 is barely a drop in the bucket. HEY, why not ask your dad for some spending money?

Child support isn't an allowance for the kids. It's there to help with the bills, food and other necessities. But cloths are a necessity and you and your mother should be going school shopping for the things that you need.
If you need extras maybe it's time you think about getting a job so you have your own money.

Your Mom gets child support to help defray the costs of raising you. It is completely up to her, as your custodial parent, to determine what it is used for.
She may put it towards rent, food, clothing, medical expense, dental, vision, vacation, etc.... It's expensive to raise a child and $600 per month helps, but won't cover half of everything you need.
If you want extras, like special clothes or movies/cds or games (whatever), then I would suggest you work for the spending money.

The purpose of child support is to support the child. First of all, she should be glad that she recieves it.
What ever the child needs should be the first use of this money. Any left over should go into a checking account for the child or spent on his/her neccesities.

Well it depends....what are your living expenses....does your mom work too??
Its hard to say what your mom is doing with the money...but basically child support is to ensure that you have a roof over your head and food on the table...doesnt say anything at all about shopping for cool school clothes.

She has to use that money to keep a roof over your head, the lights on, and food on the table. Talk to her, and ask her if she's going to be able to afford to get you any school clothes. If not, I suggest you come up with some ways to make some money and buy your own.

No, child support is to support the child, not to give them money to blow on expensive clothes. It's for important stuff like food and utilities. If you want money to spend, get a job.

Give your mom a break. There are bills to pay and food to put on the table. Its tough doing all the parenting by yourself with no support from the father.
