Look for a plug near where the dryer is that is about 2 to 2 1/2 inches wide with about three or four prong slots. This is for the 220 volt plug that is on the dryer. If there isn't one you will have to wire one into the breaker box if you have room in it. You will need a 30 amp breaker and enough wire to get to the plug receiver, and the receiver itself. Home Depot has everything you will need to do this.

yes,most electric dryers will run off of 220 volt,though there are a few apartment size that will run off 110v.but you could have a gas dryer in your apartment and your tenant can have an electric in his.no problem as long as you have the proper outlet and wiring.
