Like if I report you for chatting you would just hate me for doing that. Then when I say I'm a Christian you'll say I'm a gay basher. And you think I hate you when I never hated anyone (except the KKK) And if someone says being gay is a sin you think I hate you that's my belief not yours so why don't you just ignore me instead of spamming me? (Not that I'm a gay basher but man I've seen most of you gay people on Answers and you get angry real fast)

Have I upset you?

You are free to report abuse about whatever you consider to fall outside the terms of service/conditions of use.

There are many gay Christians, Christian does not equate to gay basher.

Hate is a sin, PITY the KKK, for their beliefs & pray that they may be forgiven their sins as you hope to be forgiven your own.

That being gay should be a sin is a matter of interpretation of passages from the likes of Leviticus and various letters from St Paul. By all means nail your beliefs to the cross, as it were, but that doesn't mean that those who disagree with your interpretations are not permitted to succumb to being sick and tired of hearing the same spraff, over and over and over again. They will react based on their threshold.

Why should you choose to place yourself in the firing line, that there are those who would spam you? Why not, instead, choose to leave the LGBT Category, out of love and with respect for those that do not meet your standards of moral rectitude?

As we clearly refuse your guidance, rather than play the Good Samaritan, be like Lot and turn your back on Yahoo!Answer's "Sodom & Gomorrah"!

God Bless

Some of us don't get angry, at least not often and certainly not without provocation. You are entitled to whatever opinion you hold -- however, I would point out this. -- You mention the KKK --- well, let's see -- an organization that uses fundamentalist religious beliefs to condemn a group (or two or three) of people.

In honesty, does that seem at all familiar to you? I think if you let yourself be honest, it does.

You get angry at and hate the KKK because they oppress a group of people you belong to. I get angry at fundamentalists because they oppress a group of people I belong to. It used to be said (and you have no doubt heard) that every third KKK hood you pulled off was a Southern Baptist minister. It is a valid statement that we could just ignore bigots -- not just you -- all bigots. On the other hand, it is an equally valid statement that you could ignore the KKK. Would you? I am not arguing that you should, but rather that it is a dichotomous position to assert that we should while you don't.

Some of us also respond to fundamentalist positions because as theologians, or people with training in the field of theology -- we feel that they are wrong.

The Bible is, while a very nice book that is the basis (in one form or another) the basis of the three great monotheistic faiths of the West -- actually a book of myths, and some of them are pretty horrid myths while others are just plain silly.

The earth is not flat, it does not have corners, and it is not established on pillars. Beetles do not have four legs, they have six. Rabbits do not chew their cuds, they have none. Ai and Jericho were both abandoned when the Israelites came to them and Jericho NEVER was walled. Oddly, though a million Jews (more or less) marched around the wilderness for 40 years and ALL died there, we cannot find a single skeleton from the march, even though we have found the remains of tribes of 200 non-semites in the same area. Pi really DOES work, and a perfectly round pool cannot be made that uses a pi of 3.0 rather than 3.14 -- it would leak through a gap in the side.

The god of the old testament, almost certainly either a rendition of one of the great Annunaki of the Sumerians or of Ra of the Egyptians, is a monster who cannot possibly deserve worship, even if real. He accepts human sacrifice, demands genocides, and wipes the faces of his priests with dung. He is, in very real terms, anthropomorphic, having a palace on top of the firmament (the dome covering the earth) where he keeps snow and hail "against the time of troubles" (war???) [If you want to read up on this type of thing, there is a fair list on the site I maintain. Go to www.rebuff.org and read the three pages under bible on the left hand menu.]

The short version of what I am saying is -- its myth. Fairy stories, like Grimm's and like Santa Claus. Furthermore, Christianity, despite what you have been told, was not HISTORICALLY based on the Bible as you know it. The canon was not established universally in anything resembling a form you would recognize until the Council of Carthage, hundreds of years after Christ. The early church had 40 gospels, but no one church had more than one book or maybe a very few. Often a gospel, or a letter -- or sometimes nothing at all. Different bishops wrote different canons, just as they had different theologies (gnostic/anti-gnostic for example). The Council of Nice (Nicea) established the creed by vote, and many things (trinity) won by only one or two votes. Divine inspiration? Not unless you count assasination, quite a few occurred connected to Nice and to Carthage.

The idea that the Bible is infallible is no different from the idea the Pope is, and it is even newer.

Christianity is not a myth, it is a religious faith. It does not require infallible books written by bronze age savages to be true. It requires love.

So, while I am sorry that you feel that we get angry -- some of us give reasoned responses to things we feel are factually and theologically wrong -- and some of us have no intention of changing that response pattern.

Feel free to email me if you wish.

Reynolds Jones

I rarely get angry over Yahoo! Questions.

I sometimes respond with less friendliness, but haven't often actually responded hatefully.

I haven't ever said you are a gay basher because you claim christianity.

I don't care if you believe homosexuality is a sin.

I have never spammed you

I certainly don't get angry "real fast."

It seems you are mistaken about gay people. I have never done any of the things you just accused me of doing.

Perhaps it's the false accusations that make people angry with you. Bearing false witness is a sin, you know. Perhaps you should spend more time repenting of lying and less time worrying about what homosexuals are doing.

IF YOU BELIEVE HOMOSEXUAL BEHAVIOR IS A SIN

DON'T ENGAGE IN HOMOSEXUAL BEHAVIOR!

Leave the rest of us alone.

With Gay Smiles...

I would think that as an African-American, you would understand persecution, ridicule and social ostracism?! Maybe those things are some of the reasons why some of my "family" gets angered easily. I don't necessarily get angry when things like that are said, because it is only your opinion and you have the right to it, but there is no need for people to be coming to the lgbt section and preaching their opinions to us. We ask questions in this section cause we don't want to hear those opinions,we've heard them enough to last a whole life time. How would you feel if you asked a question regarding your color, in a section just for people of color, and got a bunch of answers from KKK members telling you that God hates you and your going to hell. Just an opinion right? Yeah, but it is alot of crap to sift through to get to the real answers.

I think you should realize that here, many Gays are sensitized because of written bashing by so many "Christians," and I use the term loosely. I do not think you are a Gay Basher because you hold opinions that are contrary to my life style. I DO hold you accountable when you say my life is wrong, a sin, or whatever....because you have no right to judge me in any form, what so ever. Your beliefs are yours, and you are entitled to them...but you are not entitled to hold me to your ideas, anymore than I am entitled to hold mine to you. Trust me, I don't really get angry here...I often laugh at what is written, I laugh when I see statements or ideas that are nothing short of ignorant or preposterous, but I don't waste energy on getting mad. On the other hand, I can write in such a way as to cut others to ribbons, but ONLY if they truely deserve it. Your writing deserves only an honest opinion, and you have mine. Thanks,

To the gentleman. We are not the first ones to get angry. We are the ones who take a defensive stand against those who attach us. You hate the KKK for what reason? Because they attach you for being black. They call you racist names, hate you, beat up and torture you, call you a sin against god and so forth.

Well guess what. A lot of those people out here do the very same thing to us. They attach us for being gay, We get called hateful slurs, beat us, torture us, and call us a sin against God.

We take the same position as so many other minorities have taken in time when trying to gain out acceptance and freedoms.

>>>I've seen most of you gay people on Answers and you get angry real fast<<<

Welcome to the club. Whether you're a participant on Yahoo Q&A, or a participant on another discussion forum, or a conservative columnist who writes against the gay agenda, the result is always the same.

That result: you will get slammed by gays and their advocates with some of the most vicious hate mail in the world. You will be the target of some of the most vile, disgusting words ever developed in the English language.

Trust me, I know. I've gotten it from gays, the supposed champions of "tolerance," many times.

Mind you, I've never said anything bad about gays as people. I've just pointed out that their sexual behavior is incredibly risky from a medical standpoint, and I've also voiced opposition to gay marriage by using reasoned, logical arguments.

I've never said anything hateful whatsoever about gay people. But because I don't march in lockstep with their lifestyle and political agenda, I've gotten messages from them that are disgustingly vicious.

Again, welcome to the club.

Well to make any assumptions or generalization about anyone or groups, is wrong. Many gays in world could care less, what people think. Many have had to walk away from family and friends; or have them to shut us out of their lives. So unless there is something other than pointing out that being gay is a sin, I and many others are not so easily offended.

Angry? That's because homosexuality is still a point of controversy, not an excepted lifestyle. You will NEVER know how that feels to be separated because of your sexual preference. You may have your beliefs, as I do, but I keep them to myself. Try it. Your not a gay basher, just an ignorant idiot.
