The best place to start is the Clinique counter. They have makeup artists that can show you exactly what looks best.
Always remember that the more natural you look the better you'll look.
Vogue magazine is a good place to get some ideas. Thats how I started way back when. I just practiced every look that I liked in the magazine until I got it down.
Get a waterbase foundation so it goes on thinner and more natural looking. Put it on your eyelids too...it keeps your eyeshadow in place all day.
Loose face powder is the best, with a big fluffy brush, on eyes too.
Then get a soft black eyeliner and start on the outer edge of eye and make little tiny strokes, don't try to draw the liner on it doesn't look as good that way. Start with a small "V" a little liner on the top and a little on the bottom. That is usually enough to bring out your eyes.
Then for shadow, use natural colors, browns are best.
Start at the outer edge of eyes and put your brown on half of your lid and smooth it.
Next take a lighter color, maybe a cream and fill in the rest of your lid with that.
Next from your eyebrow down to the crease use a different color like a soft gold or a shimmery tan. Fill in all of that area.
Blush, keep it soft and natural with colors so you look like you have a tan. Only put it on your cheek bones and start at your hairline and work down. Dont put it on your cheeks.
Curl your eyelashes and use black mascara.
Lip liner is next, keep it natural not bright. And for lipstick you could go with earth colors. Keep the liner and lipstick the same sort of shade. Raisin is a pretty color lipstick, or coppers.
Hope I could help...good luck

Well I dont know what you look like but heres some basics....

Foundation: do to the fact you wouldn't like clogging get a mineral makeup, sense your younger and prolly have to buy it yourself go with the cheaper stuff by L'oreal that just came out.... same effect and natural get it in the skin tone you have and you'll need a powder brush big and fluffy and just sweep it on
Powder: same thing l'oreal or even Maybelline shine-free so you dont look oily!! And same shade and same application

Eyeliner: grab black or brown and apply close to the lash line top only for a natural look
Mascara: pick a color to match your liner 1/2 coats top only also very pretty and clean
Shadow: if you need any really use a pale brown or tan and sweep on the whole lid then apply a shimmery pink and blend, for brushes use the ones in the pallete or get a angle brush or a shadow bursh {Mrs. Makeup brushes are darling}

For eyemakeup brands try Clinque {kinda higher priced} or Sonia Kushak and maybelline

Blush: I'd stray away from that unless your like ealy to late 20's... if its a must get Nutrogena in a soft pink and apply to the cheeks and nose so your cute and filrty as well as just outta the sun look

Lips: top this all off with a pale or shimmery pink or lavender by NYC

NOTE: if its humid buy cream eyeshadow, liquid liner, waterproof mascara, liquid foundation, and matte powder THIS WILL CLOG PORES

Ok buy a cleanser scrub and toner. Use the cleanser and scrub to clean out ur pores and the toner to clear them. Then wear foundation (cover up) i suggest using a foundation mousse not hair moussse or howeva u spell it. foundation mousse is like a liquid but a little harder. neway wear brown eyeshadow because it looks more natural. Mascara and a pink lip gloss but dont go too bold go light and little. Hope I helped.

Before you start using any make up you really need to concentrate on clearing up your skin. Start a good skin care regimen and continue until the acne clears up, you might see that you really don't need make up after all. If you then still want to wear make up go to a make up counter in an expensive department store and have them do your makeup. Seeing someone else do it will teach you how to apply it yourself.
Good Luck!

Go to a local department store that sells make-up... more specifically the Clinique counter. They have great products that will keep from clogging pores and they can teach you how to apply make-up.

i advise using proactiv to clear the acne :]
but makeup wise.
i would use bare minerals. it is a mineral foundation. it comes in the palest to deepest foundations. it also comes with a brightening powder called warmth that gives you a glow. then a powder called mineral veil that gives you a natural "no makeup" look. it also comes with three PROFESSIONAL brushes. it also comes with a DVD on HOW TO APPLY THE MAKEUP! its a really GREAT makeup. its so pure that you could sleep in it. :]
if you want to order it you could go to sephora.com or bareminerals.com or call 1.888.795.4747 its $60 for everything i explained. its a starters kit. it should do the trick!

for your eye shadow use bronzy colours like gold for your eyeliner use black along the top eye lashes and blend it in use a little bit of masscara and so it looks natural for the foundation make sure you dont highlight your cheek bones (some good brands for masscaras are maybelline but the rest of the cosmetic product dont matter what brand) have fun

Mascara, and a bit of eyeliner on the bottom lid, with sheer lipgloss.
