I am in the petroleum industry. I am not familiar with heavy equipment/machinery and what to look for. But I know a few good brands =)
Figure out what brands you want. And go to the Big Guys websites. Komatsu, CAT, Etc... Check out what model you like and search for those on the internet used. Net browsing is an art. But you first have to have a very good idea about what you require. The more details You know the better. But leave them out of your searches. Check out yahoo.com (which is where you are) and work on your keywords. For your query I would begin with the following: Used construction equipment, Used construction machinery, excavators for sale, used excavators, used cranes, cranes for sale, etc..
Another example for a brand would be: Komatsu crane, Komatsu liquidation, Komatsu sale, Etc...
